Well it's time to face the sad music. It would be just wonderful if our computers worked as well today as they did when we first bought them, wouldn't it? Unfortunately that just probably isn't going to happen. Like any piece of mechanical or electrical equipment, computers suffer from daily wear and tear and sometimes major repair needs. Think about your car - it requires regular maintenance, right?

Computers get sick just like people . . . kind of. From your run-of-the-mill daily use to the more aggressive illnesses of viruses and trojans, it's a veritable mine field out there. Then there are the "mild" cases of adware and spyware that aren't meant to cause damage (hahaha), but sure can wreak havoc. Teaching is empowering. I've been training individuals, one-on-one and in groups, in computer operations for well over a decade and get a kick out of watching people learn. I truly enjoy teaching and receive positive feedback from everyone involved.

I've done most of my teaching in the last 5 years through Northwest Technology Center. I have taught many classes on campus as well as provided training off-site for clients through the BIS department.

Proprietary/custom programs require someone who is willing to learn the software and sometimes even write the training manual. I've worked on custom systems, designed the curriculum and written training manuals. To be a good teacher, one must first be a good student. And I find it challenging to learn something new!
